HOW DID THIS STOP BEING NORMAL?

It seems today that being treated fairly and always having companies act in your best interest is the exception, rather than the norm.

The financial services sector has been one of the worst culprits in this, we constantly hear of mis-selling scandals and financial advisers who desert their clients after taking the initial charges. Indeed, all recently conducted polls show that faith in the sector is at an all time low.

Such is the extent of the problem that the City Regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has now imposed new rules on all regulated firms and individuals whereby they have to be able to demonstrable they are now putting YOU first and treating YOU fairly.

 

These new rules, called Consumer Duty, require demonstrable plans and action to ensure you receive a 'Good Outcome'. Intelligent Money welcomes and embraces these rules and fully enforces them. Read below to find out more about how we do this.

CLASSIFICATION

We classify our clients as being in one of two groups; those who receive ongoing service directly from ourselves, and those who pay a financial adviser to provide this.

We also regularly check to ensure that our advised clients are continuing to receive ongoing servicing from their adviser. This way we actively ensure your best interests contine to be served.

PRIVATE CLIENTS

Our Private Clients value their time and want everything taken care of for them, with general and technical support, together with financial and tax guidance, always available whenever required.

They have access to our online client dashboard that provides daily values and breakdowns of their holdings, allowing them to make any changes they require, add new contributions and withdraw funds.

ADVISED

Our advised clients have selected to pay a financial adviser to manage everything for them, advising them on the best course of action and regularly reviewing everying for an ongoing fee.

They have access to their own online adviser dashboard where they can fully service your holdings with us. Advised clients must do everything through thier financial adviser, not directly with us.

IMBALANCE

Sometimes relationships with advisers break down. If this happens with you we ensure that your needs and best interests continue to be met.

If we consider you are no longer receiving ongoing servicing from your adviser we automatically switch you to become a Private Client, moving your investments to IM Lifestyle to ensure they remain well balanced whilst removing future adviser fees.
