It seems today that being treated fairly and always having companies act in your best interest is the exception, rather than the norm.

The financial services sector has been one of the worst culprits in this, we constantly hear of mis-selling scandals and financial advisers who desert their clients after taking the initial charges. Indeed, all recently conducted polls show that faith in the sector is at an all time low.

Such is the extent of the problem that the City Regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has now imposed new rules on all regulated firms and individuals whereby they have to be able to demonstrable they are now putting YOU first and treating YOU fairly.
These new rules, called Consumer Duty, require demonstrable plans and action to ensure you receive a 'Good Outcome'. Intelligent Money welcomes and embraces these rules and fully enforces them. Read below to find out more about how we do this.

CLASSIFICATION
We classify our clients as being in one of two groups; advised clients (where a regulated financial adviser provides servicing) and direct clients (where you have come to us directly or have no adviser).

We also regularly check to ensure that our advised clients are continuing to receive ongoing servicing from their adviser. This way we actively ensure your best interests always continue to be served.
DIRECT CLIENTS
Our direct clients automatically become clients of Intelligent Money Private Clients, which provides their general and technical support, together with financial and tax guidance,.

They have access to our online client dashboard that provides daily values and breakdowns of their holdings, allowing them to make any changes they require, add new contributions and withdraw funds.

ADVISED
Our advised clients automatically become clients of. Intelligent Money Adviser Support, which provides all financial adviser servicing and support.
​
Advised clients must do everything through their financial adviser, who has access to our online adviser dashboard with all client holdings. We do not deal directly with advised clients.
ORPHANED
Sometimes relationships with advisers break down.. Where we consider you are no longer receiving such servicing and advice we protect you by classifying you as an 'orphaned client' and switching you to Intelligent Money Private Clients.
Your investments will move to IM Lifestyle to ensure they remain well managed and balanced. This also removes all future adviser fees.
