INVESTMENT STYLES
There are three major styles to investing. These are to track the markets as a whole, select the stocks (companies) that could outperform the markets, or use a combination of each approach, with the holdings managed as your target date approaches.
TARGET DATING
Target dated investments can be made up of either index tracker funds, actively managed funds or a blend of both to capture each approach.
IM LIFESTYLE offers a blend of both approaches and all investment decisions, asset allocation and re-profiling is managed internally, in line with each client's future requirements for each investment.
STOCK SELECTION
Active management, or stock selection, is when an investment manager seeks to select the stocks that will go on to outperform the markets.

Active management can focus on particular geographical areas, company sizes or thematic sectors, such as technology, global household names, healthcare and undervalued companies.

Our PH Portfolios take this thematic approach.
INDEX TRACKING
Index Trackers are a simple and low cost way to track stockmarkets and other asset classes. If there is a market index, there will be a tracker replicating it
Tracking the markets at a low cost can make great sense, as whilst you will never have the potential to make larger profits by outperforming markets as a whole, you can never underperform them either.

IM Index and Optimum portfolios take this approach.
